I signed up and gave my email address, why can’t I listen to all of Pinna?

Pinna Basic is our free version that allows you to listen to select episodes of Pinna Originals and sample clips for our entire library collection. All you need is an email and password to start listening, no credit card required. In order to unlock everything on Pinna, you’ll need to start a monthly or annual subscription. With Pinna Full-Access, you’ll be able to enjoy thousands of podcast episodes, audiobooks, and music without any restrictions. You’ll also be able to create your own playlists, and download to listen offline. In order to upgrade, head to your settings page and select “Choose a plan”.

How much does Pinna cost?

We currently offer two subscription options that kick in after your free trial:

  • A month-to-month option at $7.99/month USD that auto-renews monthly
  • A yearly option at $5.99/month USD (billed annually), which is nearly 3 months FREE that auto-renews annually

Both options unlock unlimited access to all Pinna Original podcasts as well as audiobooks, podcasts, and music from the best brands around the world! With content added daily, there's always something new for your kids to listen to! Plus, you can listen on any mobile device via the Pinna app as well as stream on your desktop/laptop.

*Please note that all prices are in US Dollars (USD). App stores will display cost based on exchange rates and your location.

Why does Pinna cost money?

The Pinna app is a kid-safe environment which, in part, means that it is free of ads and free of messaging aimed at your kids. Because the Pinna app does not rely on advertising as a revenue source, we must collect subscription fees in order to continue to create amazing Pinna Original podcasts and acquire top content from partners across the music, podcasting and audiobook space.

If you'd like to listen for free, many Pinna podcasts are available with advertising on all major podcast platforms such as Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and Amazon Music.

Why is a credit card required at subscription sign up?

After selecting a plan for Pinna Full-Access, we ask for a payment method to ensure you don't have any interruption in service after the free trial ends. We do this by sending an authorization request to your financial institution to verify that your payment method works. These requests are not charges, but in some cases they may temporarily affect your available account balance.

What happens after my free trial ends?

If you entered a payment method at sign-up, you will be automatically charged for a monthly or yearly subscription after your free trial ends – depending on what plan you selected at sign up – and continue to have unlimited access to Pinna. Otherwise, you will be prompted to select a plan and enter a payment method. If you canceled your trial before your free trial ended, you will not be charged, and you will no longer have access to the Pinna library.

Keep in mind that if you elect to cancel before your free trial ends, you must do so 24 hours before the date of your first payment to avoid being charged. To check the status of your account as well as confirm the date of your payment, please visit My Account Settings under Manage Subscription. You can access this portal once logged in, behind the parent/teacher portal. We are not able to process refunds for payments made through third parties such as an app store, and do not offer refunds if the cancellation deadline is missed.

Why was I charged earlier than expected?

If your billing date is scheduled for a date that does not occur in a given month (such as the 31st), you’ll likely be billed on the last day of that month instead. Monthly billing occurs on a 4-week basis not on a calendar month.

To check the status of your account as well as confirm the date of your payment, please visit [Manage subscription]([manage_subscription]) in the parents’ or teacher portal. We are not able to process refunds for payments made through third parties such as an app store, and do not offer refunds if the cancellation deadline is missed.

How can I upgrade my subscription from monthly to annual?

In order to upgrade your subscription, go to pinna.fm and click on the “Parents” or “Teachers” section in the top right. To access, verify your age by inputting your birth year. Once verified, click on “Manage subscription” and scroll down to the “Membership status” section and click “Change plan”. Select which new plan you’d like and click confirm.

*Note: The plan selected will go into effect after your current billing cycle.

Does Pinna have content filters?

At Pinna, we believe in a kid’s right to explore, discover, learn and play on their own terms. Therefore, every audio show and content piece is developed and acquired with kids in mind. In fact, every show produced is carefully vetted by experts in the children’s cognitive development field including advisors specifically focused on literacy, education, culture, psychology and curriculum. We want to ensure everything your kids are exposed to is not only enjoyable but also age appropriate.

However, sometimes parents want to further customize their kids’ listening experience. We offer a few ways to do this:

Age filter:

We have an age filter, which allows you to narrow down selections based on your kids' age. (For ease of mind, we partner with experts in the cognitive development field and kid test all Pinna Original podcasts to determine appropriateness of our content.)

Download and listen:

With offline listening available, you can easily download content you'd want your kids to listen to and let them listen to Pinna in airplane mode.

Playlists:

You could create a custom playlist for your kids incorporating the content you'd want them to listen to. (This can be downloaded and listened to offline as well).

Pinna is available to stream on iOS, Android, and Amazon devices including tablets and smartphones that allow apps. Does Pinna track my kids' activity?

First and foremost, we absolutely do not collect, or use, sell, or disclose your kid’s/student’s name, address, email, or any other information that would personally and directly identify them. In fact, we have no mechanism or business reason to collect that information. The only information we need from you (the parent/teacher) is your contact and payment information to maintain the account.

Second, we collect analytics information automatically about our users’ devices that access the Kids Player. The third parties we use for this purpose are listed in our Privacy Policy. This information is, for example, IP address and browser type. Like most other internet-enabled businesses, we need analytics to effectively run our business; for example, it is important to know which shows are popular across our user base. If you allow your kids/students to use the Kids Player, we will gather information about that activity for our internal analytics. But the analytics information we collect does not allow us to personally identify you or your kid/student, and we do not use it for marketing purposes.

Thank you for reading. Our goal is to earn your trust and provide an exceptional service. Please don’t hesitate to contact us at contact@pinna.fm with any questions!

Is Pinna available in my country?

If you have any specific questions on how to access Pinna locally, please reach out to us at contact@pinna.fm and we'll be happy to assist!

Why did the audiobook I was listening to disappear?

We want all the world’s audiobooks, podcasts, and music on Pinna, but availability can vary over time and between countries, depending on the permissions from rights holders. We add new content to Pinna every day, so if you can’t find something specific you’re looking for, it may appear (or reappear) soon!
